It’s 9.45 a.m., and Sho was looked himself at mirror. He should have gone to pick up Jun 15 minutes ago. But Sho was nervous, and he had spent more than an hour to choose what clothes he should wear. He knew it wasn’t date, it just Shuu’s birthday (wait Shuu’s birthday wasn’t just, Sho mentally smacked himself) but he couldn’t help to thought it was their date.
After decided which clothes he would wear (just T-shirt, vest, and jeans—Sho wondering why it need so much time just to decided it) he went down. The party would start soon, and a lot of people had come. Sho saw Meisa between those guests. Their eyes met for a moment before Meisa looked away. Sho sighed; he knew last night he was being rude with her. It was because of Jun, not that he blame Jun--that will never happen--it was because he wanted to be with Jun alone but instead she was there.
He admitted he never treated her nice before, and he didn’t want Jun to knew it— before, Jun always scolded him every time he became full of himself and treated people bad— but instead she told Jun about that. Well, it wasn’t nice to blame the other tough. I must apologize to her later, thought Sho. He then immediately got in his car and drove to Jun’s hotel. He didn’t know Meisa followed him with her eyes. When he was out of gaze, she sighed, “I lose.” she mumbled.
***
Jun had been waiting for more than half an hour outside the hotel before he saw Sho’s car from distance. It was 10.10 a.m. and Sho wasn’t really late. But actually, Jun had ready and waited him since 9.00 a.m., he got excited when he knew he could spent the day with Sho again, even though he still nervous with probability to met Sho’s parents. Jun approach Sho’s car when it slow down and stopped in front of him. Sho opened the door and Jun entered the car.
“Sorry I’m late.” said Sho when Jun sat and adjusted the seat belt.
“Don’t worry.”
Then Sho drove them to his house. Party was already started. Sho out of the car first, he waited Jun to followed him. But Jun made no attempt to get out of car. He peeping Sho’s house and he saw Sho’s parents standing in front of their house, welcomed the guests. They saw Sho coming and called him, “Sho, what are you doing there?! Get inside!” yelled his mom. Sho ignored that and opened car’s door instead, he opened it for Jun.
“Get out Jun. What are you waiting for?” asked Sho concerned.
“Your parents…”
Sho sighed, he knew Jun still unsure to meet his parents. But he thought thing wouldn’t get better if Jun never met his parents. Even if in the end they couldn’t finally together (but Sho never wanted it to happen) at least Jun’s relationship with his parents would back to normal. He knew Jun love his parents and so did his parents.
“It is okay. I’ve been told them you will come today.”
Jun’s eyes widen comically, “Eh really?” Jun couldn’t believe Sho’s word. How come he had told his parents and got no reaction at all? Kind of could read what inside Jun’s mind, Sho answered, “Well that is lie. But you have to get out now. The party had started.”
Jun glared at Sho, but when Sho forcefully pulled him out of car Jun obeyed. Sho drag him toward his house.
And then he met Sho’s parents, stand in front of their home, looked surprised with Jun’s presence. Jun bow his head down, didn’t dare to met Sho’s parent’s eye. The atmosphere became tense and no one speaking. Sho was the first who spoke, “Can we come in?”
Sho’s mother had opened her mouth, ready to say something when his husband stopped her. “Yes you can.” said Sho’s father and gave them way. Sho then drag Jun inside, while Jun still couldn’t look at Sho’s parents.
What happened after was pretty normal though. Jun didn’t meet Sho’s parents at all, instead he met with Meisa. She greeted him when she first saw him, “Hey Matsumoto-san!” she greeted him cheerfully.
Jun was bit shocked knew that Meisa there, but then he realize of course she would be there. Sho’s mother seems to match her with Sho anyway.
Jun greeted Meisa politely, “Ah Kuroki-san!” he said while bowed his head. Meisa walked toward him, pretending not to notice that Sho was there though.
“You’ve just came?” asked her. Jun nodded. But before he could say anything, Sho spoke suddenly.
“Sorry!!” he bowed toward Meisa. Jun wasn’t the only one surprised, seeing Meisa expression, she surprised too. She didn’t expect Sho to apologize. “Last night, I didn’t mean to be rude. It was just you talked about me that way, made me annoyed.”
Silent. Jun waiting for Meisa reaction, while Sho still bowed at her. Another guest began to realize something happened. A lot of them whispered and pointed toward them. But Sho seems didn’t care and still bowed. Finally Meisa talked, “its okay. I think that was part of my fault. Sorry.”
Sho finally raised his head and smiled toward her. It seems something has been settled between them, something which Jun didn’t understand anything about that. Then suddenly the heavy air around them disappeared. Meisa smiled toward Jun, “Have you meet Shuu?”
Jun shook his head, still couldn’t said anything. “You must meet him, I’m sure he’ll happy to meet you. He always told me about you.” said her while dragged Jun. Jun eyes meet Sho, asked for help. But Sho just chuckled and follow them. Finally Meisa stopped, in front of them there were bunch of boys and girls. One of them looked familiar to Jun. Meisa tapped that boy’s shoulder and when he turned around Jun knew why he felt that boy looked familiar. He is Shuu.
Shuu looked annoyed, he barely open his mouth to scolding Meisa when his eyes met Jun’s. Couldn’t believe what he’d seen, Shuu’s eyes wide comically. Jun couldn’t hold his laughter when he saw Shuu’s reaction. That awakened Shuu; he suddenly came toward Jun and hugged him tightly.
“Jun nii-chan!!” cried Shuu.
Sho, who had just arrived, simply smiled when saw the scene in front of him. He knew Shuu miss Jun so much. Sometimes when their parents nowhere around them, he would ask Sho about Jun’s news, as if Sho knew. For Shuu, Jun was his brother. When he was child, Jun and the other three often came to Sho’s house. Every time, little Shuu would always tried to join with them but Sho always shoo him away. But Jun, being nice brother, always scolding Sho and played with Shuu. In the end the other three would play with Shuu and leave Sho alone. Sometimes Sho would feel jealous toward Shuu because Jun always cared for him, much than for Sho.
“Ugh Shuu, I can’t breath!!” said Jun.
“He he, sorry.” said Shuu embarrassed. Jun shook his head and smiled, “It’s okay, as long as you’re not trying to kill me.”
After released Jun, Shuu then turn toward his friends. He gave them signal to close. There were 4 boys and 2 girls.
“Jun nii-chan let me introduce you to my best friends. Shin, Tatsuya, Satoru, and Mamoru. Then Seika, Tatsuya’s girl friend and Aoi, my girl friend.” said Shuu.
They bowed their head toward Jun, and Jun did same thing. Something about them made Jun felt familiar.
“Nice to meet you, Shuu always told us about you.” said Tatsuya.
“Well basically he told us about all Sho’s friend, not only Matsumoto-san.” said the other, Jun thought he was Shin.
“But the most he told to us is Matsumoto-san.” argued Tatsuya.
Watching both of them reminded Jun about him and Kazu. He and Kazu was the youngest between them. And because of that the other 3 always let them do whatever they wanted. But because he and Kazu basically stubborn, usually they would end up argued.
“Satoru, don’t sleep when you’re standing!” said Tatsuya suddenly.
The one who called Satoru just looked at them, dazed. “But I slept late yesterday,” he mumbled. Shin smack his head, “Whose fault is that? We have reminded you about Shuu’s birthday party today. But you insist to play Wi-Fi till late.”
“Mamoru played with me too,” Satoru defended.
“But he is stupid, so he didn’t even now what is sleepy mean!” said Tatsuya.
“Oi! I’m not stupid, you jerk!!” shout Mamoru while trying to hit Tatsuya. But before he could hit Tatsuya, Shuu intervened.
“Stop being childish you guys!! Look at Jun nii-chan. He surprised look at your behavior.”
Jun just chuckled, “You guys really remind me about my childhood friend.” said him amused. Shuu just smiled wide, while Mamoru still tried to hit Tatsuya’s head. Then Jun’s gaze fell to two girls, who just watching the whole scene while smiled.
“So, you’re Shuu’s girlfriend?” asked Jun to one of the girl whose name Aoi.
She looked surprised because Jun suddenly spoke to her, but she managed to answer, “Ah…yes, I’m Aoi. Nice to meet you.” she said and bowed to Jun. What a cute girl, thought Jun. He looked at Shuu who glance at her. At his eyes Jun could see love; it was something rare considering his age, he just 17, but after all love didn’t know about age…or gender, thought Jun bitterly.
Sho suddenly stood beside Jun. “They really looked like us, don’t they?” Jun nodded, if he would describe them, Shuu was much alike Sho, Tatsuya was Kazu, Shin was Jun himself, Satoru was Satoshi, and Mamoru was Masaki. Seeing them, Jun felt happy but at the same time he felt sad. It reminded him about them, and how they couldn’t be back like that.
Shuu seems realized Sho’s presence, his gaze fell to him. Jun could saw Shuu became tense.
“Nii-chan,” called Shuu.
Sho looked at him, as if said ‘what’. Then Shuu’s eyes wondering around, before back to met Sho’s eyes.
“Do our parents know?” asked him silently.
Sho nodded, “Tousan said Jun can come in, even though I’m not sure with Kaasan.”
Heard Sho’s word Shuu just nodded, but his eyes didn’t leave Sho. Sho knew Shuu happy to met Jun, but he knew that Shuu also afraid of their parents. First day after they were move out to Tokyo, Shuu entered Sho’s room. At first he just casually asked him about Jun, why they were together at the first place, but then suddenly Shuu crying. He said he miss Jun, he didn’t know why their parent hated Jun just because of he dated Sho. Sho had to calm him down before Shuu could stop crying. For Shuu, Jun was another brother, sometimes Sho thought Shuu love Jun more than Shuu love him.
Then suddenly someone came and hugged Jun from behind.
“Jun nii-chan!”
Startled, Jun trying to release the hug but that someone just tightened it. Suddenly Sho slap that someone head and then Jun free.
“Mai, stop being childish! Greet someone properly like adult do!!” scolding Sho to that someone, who turned out to be Mai, Sho’s sister.
Mai just pouted and caressed her head, “its hurt nii-chan. You’re horrible.” said her.
Jun chuckled; Sho and Mai relationship was never changed. While Sho always treating Shuu like a child, Mai would always Sho’s rival.
Even though they 2 years apart, it looked like they’re twins. Mai’s face looked like Sho’s, and she is manly, sometimes more manly than Sho.
Hears Jun chuckled, Mai quickly forgotten her brother and hugged Jun, again (Sho rolling his eyes). This time Jun hugged her back.
“I miss you.” said Mai silently, so just Jun who could hear her. Jun patted her back, “Me too.”
